When getting to the cliff overlooking Kelingking Beach you have 2 options for avoiding the crowds.
Option 1: You can walk the pathway down towards the beach. If you’re lucky you will be able to find a spot without too many people. And thereby have the opportunity to get pictures without too many people in them.
Option 2: The second option for you to avoid the crowds of Kelingking Beach is to walk to the right side of the cliff and viewpoint. From here you can take incredible pictures overlooking the beautiful beach.

Visiting Kelingking Beach and viewpoint is quite straightforward. But as with so many other attractions, there are always some things that are good to know before arriving.
Getting to Kelingking Beach & viewpoint
Getting to the Kelingking viewpoint is quite easy. The viewpoint is about 30 minutes from the harbor of Nusa Penida. You can either rent a motorbike or if you are on a day trip your transportation will be arranged for you.
From the top of the viewpoint, it’s possible to walk down to the beach. You mustn’t underestimate walking down to the beach as it can be strenuous for some people. The climb down is quite steep but there is a railing that you can hold on to. But keep in mind the difficulties of the climb. You shouldn’t climb down if you are not sure you can climb up again. There is no other way up than the same way you came from.
If you are not so comfortable with the walk down to the beach it is also possible to walk halfway. From there you will get a breathtaking view of the bay.
Time spent at Kelingking Beach & viewpoint
The amount of time you spend at Kelingking Beach and viewpoint depends on a lot of things. But one thing is for sure. You should set aside at least 60 minutes to climb down to the beach. And of course, the same amount of time for the climb back up.
Other than that, you should set aside some hours for your time down at the beach. The climb can be quite strenuous, and the beach is a perfect place to relax and take a break. It is also a great idea to set aside enough time for the different viewpoints.

Safety
Safety at Kelingking is almost non-existent. There are some bamboo railings but keep in mind that these are just a precaution and don’t stop you from falling over if you trip. So, you must be careful around the edge of the cliffs. But don’t worry it is possible to take in the beautiful views without risking your life.
Dress code
There are no rules for your clothing when visiting Kelingking Beach and viewpoint. But leave the flip-flops at home and bring closed shoes. It is also a good idea to bring a cap as the sun can be quite harsh. If you plan on visiting in the early morning hours or the afternoon around sunset, you bring a jacket or sweater as it tends to be a little chilly on the top of the cliff.

When you get down to the beach you must be very aware of the waves. They tend to be quite big. Another thing to be aware of is that swimming at the beach is not recommended. The current is very strong, and it can be dangerous to go for a swim.

The best time to visit Kelingking Beach and viewpoint is around morning. That way you can avoid the big crowds of people. As well as having the opportunity to make the climb down to the beach without too many people.
Another great time to visit the Kelingking viewpoint is around sunset. The views are just stunning and it’s a perfect way to end the day.
